Benefits of biking

Mountain bikes offer a whole range of benefits to the emergency services:

Faster response times in congested areas

High visibility patrols

Accessibility of staff

Approachability of staff

Cost effective

Carbon neutral

There are over 4000 Police and Community Support Officers using cycles as a regular part of their duties in the UK. Ambulance paramedics, volunteer first-aiders, fire and rescue officers, traffic and community wardens and coast guard officers are all using bikes to provide fast track response to incidents all over the UK.

In addition many organisations and businesses are recognising the benefits of using cycles in their daily operations and are proactively encouraging their workforce to get on their bikes. The UK Government has launched the Cycle to Work scheme and thousands of miles of cycle paths have been created, with many more planned. Cycling has a very big part to play in the future as more and more recognise the benefits.

We currently operate a successful monthly training programme that supports those wanting to, or already, reaping the rewards of pedal power!
